Blog Post from the 8th

Today we finished our teaching at Dialandiahoto. We taught a couple of things in the general session. One was on what is important for a church to have … vision and passion (obedience) If a church is forward focused rather than having its actions dictated by the past, they will make progress … you cannot put your hand to the plow and look back. If a church has a healthy outreach to the lost rather than a fixation of ministry just to themselves, they will grow. Not all caught the diagram, but some of the leaders began to see the need for them to move forward and reach out. They need to be characterized by what they give rather than what they get.

Bro. Roger led the other part of the general session laying the foundation for relationships. Then we broke up into three groups. Bro. Roger led the session for the men. Pam led the women and Mica led the children. Mica was surprised by the children. She gave them something to color. They all worked quietly till they had all finished. Bro. Roger's groups got into some significant discussions. It was very interesting.

We finished in time to bring a sick child of a leader. We stopped by the pharmacy to get some malaria medication and some Africa version of thynol. They will spend the night here and then travel back tomorrow.

On the way back Mica broke her seat about half way back. She had to sit on the floor almost. The vehicle was engineered to have a third seat. He had the seats resting on a wooden box. Yesterday, we missed seeing a speed bump. The result was a cracked box. Today it gave way. We have had the wall bracket welded and the other seat back on the wall brace on the other side.

Tomorrow we hope to have it all back together by 10 and on our way out the Kontoubou. We said we will arrive by 11 a.m. We will visit there and then return to the guest house.

On Thursday, we will spend the day in town … working with Pastor Ngor. We hope to help him flesh out a vision for Sedhiou and a potential strategy. We also hope to meet the governor. That evening we will go back to Dialandiahoto for a prayer meeting before we go to show the Jesus Film in a new village where they have a believer.
