Honey, I'm home!
It is hard to believe I've already been home 4 1/2 days. I still don't think I quite comprehend all of the destruction that was done by the tornadoes. Our prayers go out to those families who have lost love ones and to those who have lost their homes and personal belongings.
"You are my portion, O LORD,...You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word...Sustain me according to your promise, and I will live, do not let my hopes be dashed. Uphold me, and I will be delivered." Psalm 119:57, 114, 116-117
Sam and I both hit the pavement running. Mrs. Bonnie had to have foot surgery on Wednsday and did very well. Then my mom had a heart cath done Thurs to have another stent put it. All went well. We sing HIS praises for taking care of our loved ones while we were gone, for guiding the surgeon's hands, and bringing them safely home for their recovery period.
We now begin to process the things we saw, heard, and felt. Pray that God will give us HIS great wisdom and discernment as to the steps we are to take next. Pray specifically for Tom has he experiences reverse culture shock coming home. Words are too inadequate to use in attempts to portray the work that God has done through this man.
Every morning that I've been home have I awakened to thoughts of the many things that are still left to do and to the ones who are seeking our Saviour and to those who have never heard. I can still hear Tom singing in Pastor N'goms church his last Sunday there..."My House Is Full But My Fields Are Empty" Would you be willing to go to the fields and work?...to say to the Father "here am I, send me"?
"Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Matt 9:37-38.
