This message came from Travis (SBU team leader) on Sunday from the Casamance. He very nicely describes the service at Opa Boss' church and I thought you all might enjoy it...
Hey guys
Everything is well here in Sedhiou, southern Senegal. This morning pretty much amazing. We went to the only Mandyak church that is here in
Senegal. That was awesome. Guess how long it lasted??? For at least
2 hours!! And it was so cool. We prayed at least 6 or 7 different times and had three people get up and bring a message. This is what took so long, because we had a translator to translate from Maninka to English and back again. Then they killed and prepared a pig just for us. And the whole thing was on the platter, not in whole, but pieces on top of some angel noodle type things. Again, baaxna lo. No, I mean "wo beteyaata" which is "that's good" in mandinka Then we traveled two hours back on dirt roads, w/ craters in the middle every so often, well o.k., every couple yards. I am pretty sure we could speed walk just as fast as we drove!!
Then we had chicken, or steak and potatoes again for dinner. It has been a very good couple days here down south working with the Mandyakou.
And lastly the two that were sick yesterday are feeling much better, thank you all so much for your prayers of protection and comfort.
Thanks again for all your prayer and support
