Message from David Iannacone

Subject: 01-07 UPDATE
Sunday 10:45pm

Members of PrayCom,
It has been a little bit harder to get to the internet from where we are now. Things in Sedhiou is a bit more primitive than Dakar. The electricity will go out on occassion for a couple of minutes to an hour. The place the women are staying at is really nice. It reminds me a lot of a Bahama bungalo. The men are in something a little more spartan. We have beds on the floor and a more communal style. It is a lot like the Wisconsin cabin. On the water, 1 bathroom, no hot water. Those who went to the Wisconsin mission trip will be able to relate.

It is really different in the Casamance region where we are. The roads are not as good. We went to visit a Mandjaku village today that was 18 miles away, It took over 2 hours to navigate the road. My liver will never be the same. But it was a great blessing to be in Worship with the only Mandjaku church in Senegal. It was an awesome experience. The people were so kind and loving. They greeted us with arms open wide and accepted us into their community. They even had a fellowship meal for us after church. Sometime during the worship service the pastors wife went away with some of the other ladies to go kill a pig and prepare it especially for us. Rick and Fran the missionary couple in Sedhiou said we will know if that was a good thing in about three days.

All in all this was an amazing day. I dont know how long it will be before I can get another e-mail out. But we will be in touch.

David
