Africa Update...

Manjak Team, Wed. 11.7.12

We had a telephone conversation with the Team. They have been sharing the stories in churches each morning and evening.  They were telling the story in one church yesterday when a man walked in.  They were telling the story of the Demon Possessed Man from Mark.  This man heard the story and the processing of it as they discussed the implications of the story.  This man, as a result of the story and the sharing of their faith, accepted the Lord Jesus.

They went a long distance to another church last night.  The church is remote and does not have many opportunities for training.  They told the story of Creation but had to retell it several times for them to grasp it and learn how to tell it well.  There was a "fortune" teller [not sure just what that means] who had become a follower of Jesus Christ.  Everyone agreed that she was the one who was able to tell the story the best.

Pray for the following specifically:
  • Right now Pastor Roger is meeting with pastors sharing the vision and plans for reaching the Manjak for Christ.
  • Tomorrow (Thursday) Pastor Tsinda (pronounced chenda) is conducting the funeral for his brother.
  • Pastor Roger's suitcase was lost or delayed. Pray that it will be in Ziguinchor tomorrow when the team returns to Zig.  The suitcase had many items for the work in the churches and for the Bible Institute.
  • Jennifer and Jennie travel back to Dakar Thursday evening (7 p.m.) then they will begin the Women's Conference on Friday.
  • Pray for Joseph and Pastor as they travel to Sedhiou to meet with the Governor on Friday and meet to share Christ Jesus with a key Manjak leader in Kountobou outside of Sdehiou.
Pray that they will another cool night (it has been extremely hot ... the first night the girls had to sleep out side because of the heat) Yesterday, they had a story come through and last night they got a better night's sleep.

Bro. Sam
