Were back

Back in the USA … sort of its New York

Yesterday afternoon we were driving along the Atlantic coast in Dakar watching the sun go down in the west.  The trouble is ... here in NY it is cloudy, foggy ... in other words ... no sun!

We got off to the airport at 4 a.m. on the dot. Buddy and I got a little over 2 hours of sleep and a little more on the plane. I got more that Buddy that he did because he had a couple of guys to had to speak their French very loudly most of the trip.  My folks were calmer.

We left Dakar a little behind time. There was a problem with one of the instruments or switches.  Before they got back to the terminal to get a mechanic, we had a mechanic on board to fixed it.  We got off a little late, but arrived 30 minutes ahead of schedule.  I guess that was the reason that we had to go out of the secure section of the airport to once again check in.  There were some folks who were VERY upset. Cussing loudly, complaining to everyone.  He was demanding a limo to take him to LaGuardia, he was missing luggage, etc.  My check in luggage did not come as well (but I did not cuss them or raise my voice).. It seems that it was not loaded in Dakar.  I did not have anything important in it, except the medical papers that the January team left plus a lot of dirty clothes and just stuff.

We are booked to fly from JFK to ATL. There we will have 39 minutes between the time we arrive and the time we depart.  Hopefully, the distance between the gates will not be far … which is possible in Atlanta.

We were able to order in English here even though at times you wonder if this is not another international city because of the melting pot effect with other peoples who have made the USA and NY their new home.  We are in a food court.  Buddy was surprised to see a pigeon fly in front of him and start eating things that had been dropped on the floor. We have a view of the airfield and see airplanes from several different countries as well as different carriers from the US.

Thanks for praying for us. We were blessed, guided and protected by the Father. We believe it was because you all were so faithful to pray for us.

As soon as we get an internet signal that does not cost, we will email this.

Bro. Sam
