Thanks for Praying for our meeting today. We had a very good and positive meeting today. We met with the head of the Manjak association, those responsible for training Manjak literacy trainers, the one technical adviser for the translation of the scripture into Manjak, the one who has been asked to consider starting a bible school in the Casamance and Calvary. We shared what we had been doing. Others shared what they were doing. One asked several questions to help clarify and helped us drill down further on issues. Several Manjak believers are going from here and from the Gambia to join believers in Guinea Bissau to witness in two villages in G Bissau. Ibrahim indicated that these were to very center of Manjak traditional belief (some call witchcraft). His comments were interesting. He said that many from here return to that area to consult with the witchdoctors or spiritual leaders of the Manjak traditional beliefs. He indicated that they needed to take down that tree and destroy the root system. If they did not, then they would continue to be troubled as a people. There are about 4 new books of the Bible coming available once that translation is authenticated. The potential theological school in Zig will be the topic of discussion at a meeting there in April. They have gotten together materials for dealing with women's medical issues. Hopefully, soon these will be available for publication. After our meeting that started at 10 and finished at 2 we went to eat at the new Mall! Interesting, You enter from the street and drive DOWN into the parking garage that has several levels. We walked in and took the esclator down to the next floor for lunch. The view was fantastic ... looking out over the Atlantic and the coast line!!!! We then did a little shopping ... and a little sightseeing winding up at the lighthouse (Africas western most) that over looks the city. A fastastic view. After a "Last Supper" together as Joseph called it, we returned to the guest house 12 hours after we left this am. We will be getting up in about another 3 hours to prepare to leave for the airport at 4 am Please continue to pray for us as we travel back to you. Bro. Sam |
