God continues to amaze me every day! We were granted the privilege to pray walk the school grounds and pray over buildings at Kounayan Mancagne. It was such a joy to be able to pray over the buildings for each teacher, as well as, every child that will ever enter the door to the classroom. Praying that God would bring them to salvation and would bless them above and beyond all they could ever think or imagine. Also, asking God to bless our time with them as we teach in the days to come.
Nema graciously invited us to her home in Kounayan Mancagne where we had a special time of laughter and singing. We sang American songs to them and then they would sing a Manjacku song back to us. One of the most memorable moments was when we all sang “Thank You, Thank You Jesus” in English, Creole, and Wolof while dancing around the mango tree. It was amazing to see God still working with the women after the leadership conference. Cindy and Pam talked to the women about different ways they could teach their children about Jesus. Singing around the tree brought up a great opportunity for Cindy to share with the women how they could sing with their children as another way to teach them about Jesus. Then, we proceeded to sing “Jesus Loves Me”.
The leadership conference with the men went very well. They were only able to get through three lessons, but were able to spend quality time taking questions and discussing practical ways to apply this teaching in their daily lives.
It is evident that they have a desire to reach their people for the Lord. They feel a great need for training. One of the greatest possible ways to reach this region for Christ is through sharing what God has taught us. To ground them in Word and sound doctrine along with encouragement and strategic planning may be the most effective avenue to a church planting movement.
