This blog reaches many people outside of our immediate community. Through our partnership with Ridgecrest Baptist in St. Charles as well as volunteers from churches of various denominations throughout the nation which have accompanied Calvary's mission teams overseas, we see that God is doing a magnificent work among so many in His body. We recognize that it is God which issues the call and provides the resources while working through those who remain obedient to His call.
For those who may have felt the "mission tug" on their hearts, we would encourage you to seek the Lord regarding the part He would have you play in mission work in your home church. I would also like to ask you to prayerfully consider joining with Calvary in an upcoming opportunity to "Send the Light".
In July we will send a team, lead by veteran team leader Mirinda Sandlin, to Chiang Mai, Thailand. Mirinda lead a team there last year to participate in "English" week at an elementary school where they were able to use scripture as an academic text. The school administrators were very impressed with the work that was done and asked the team to return this year, which we have committed to do. To date we have 9 people committed to go and Mirinda is hoping for 12.
At this point we have to seriously consider purchasing airline tickets to qualify for a fairly substantial discount, so a timely response by interested parties would be greatly appreciated. We can help you with ideas we have used to help raise funds to offset some of the cost of the trip. We know from testimonies shared after last year's mission that each individual, both American and Thai, was deeply touched and changed by this encounter.
If you like to work with children and are interested in mission work - and most importantly if you are feeling the leading of the Holy Spirit to participate in a work like this - please contact me via email at scott@forbescraft.com for further details. Please type "THAILAND MISSION" in the subject line. I can put you in touch immediately with Mirinda.
If you hear the call ringing o'er the restless wave, please answer it. The posts on this blog are all the evidence you will ever need that you will not regret it!
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"
