Today was the day we went to Ziguinchor, or simply Zig for short. Kimberly Thompson, a journey girl from
- A two hour drive to Zig from Sedhiou
- A meeting with a pastor who works with Opa. Yes, Opa was in a village near Zig and his daughter would take us. We delayed this until after lunch.
- Went to the bank for Tom to draw money. His card would not work nor would Robert’s. Back to the drawing board on that idea.
- To the SUPER market of the area. Tom bought a box of food and supplies. They came to $92.
- To the fresh fruit and food sellers on the street.
- To the other type market for some small rugs for Tom
- To get petrol for the van and check on a gas bottle for a stove fitting.
- To lunch
- Back to pick up the daughter and go out to meet Opa
- Met with Opa. This took over an hour. We started and then broke for their lunch. We then started again. It seems that he has gotten his feelings hurt because he was not contacted for the medical team… since his phone did not work and we called members, I guess he thought we could drive out to find him. I tried to carefully handle it tactfully instead of bluntly. Thanks for praying. Kimberly realized the tenseness and prayed with/and for me. It has worked out that we will meet him at his place at 8 a.m. on Wednesday … we will leave here at 6 to get there.
- Back to get a gas bottle (cylinder)… no, go get the stove fitting first. While there, several of us went to the boutique (store) at the Shell station. We got cold sodas!!!!! Which helped a hot tired attitude.
- Back to the super market for a stove fixture.
- Back to the station for a gas bottle, no, it was not the correct one.
- Back to the super market for a refund.
- To the market for a stove fitting to put on the gas bottle
- Back to the station for a gas bottle, no, they do not sell bottles only swap them.
- To the place where they sell gas bottles, purchase two and an attachment that sets on top of the tank to hold the pot off of the burner.
- A 2 hour drive back to Sedhiou
- A stop to purchase 3 sacks of charcoal
It has gotten quiet. We just had supper during which they had to stop to kill a mouse. Some stayed to visit. It was so loud (a man and his wife were just talking!!!) that I could not hear Joseph telling me about the time we are to meet with Jean Pierre tomorrow. This was a change from Wednesday so we could meet with Opa.
Sorry no pictures today.
Please pray:
- That we will remain in the spirit and not the flesh when dealing with others
- That the Father will be glorified.
- That we will find Bobo and Jean Pierre and they will embrace the training.
- That the meeting with the chief in Sansamba will go well.
- That we will be able to meet briefly with Dr. Burro before going to Sansamba
