This morning early we returned to Sansamba after stopping at the hospital to check on the lady we sent during the medical clinic. She is much better but still weak. We found Bobo at the clinic with a few patients waiting to see the nurse. We set out under the mango tree and visited. It was sure different than when the medical team was here. The same tree instead of having 10 or 12 had probably 100+ during clinic days. Much cooler, calmer and peaceful
Tom is working on going to Sansamba each Saturday to train Bobo in T4T (Training for Trainers). She will be a key for us reaching the Mandyak in this area. This evening we will go to Bloc to visit with Jean Pierre about involving him in training. He will be a key person for that area.
Before leaving, we went by to see the chief. He was in the field but we visited with his younger brother and the other elders that were available. They were happy to see us. We shared the news of the team. They want the team to return of course. But the work of the medical team did wonders for the attitude and outlook of the village.
We found out that the medicines were sent back to Sansamba and that the nurse had checked upon the lady we had sent when he was at the hospital last Sunday.
On the way back we stopped at the “garage” (bus and filling station) to check on transportation to Malikunda and to Sansamba. The transport to Bloc should not be difficult. But to these other places, it will be. It is only 700 CFA per seat in the bus to Sansamba, but the bus only goes when it is full. To hire a taxi to take them, it would be exorbitant. So we have them checking on a used moped or small motorcycle.
