Sedhiou, Senegal
We completed our time of sharing with the believers at Dialadingoto. We met with them on Monday afternoon until almost dark. We had them work on their testimonies which they shared with us. We introduced the story of the possessed man.
We returned this morning after picking up items in town … some meat, notebooks, pens, etc. We found that many of the women had gone to an old woman’s funeral nearby so we had about 15 men as well as about 3 women … two who cooked and one who set in with us. Bro. Sam and Joseph did the call to discipleship, levels of discipleship and the importance of doing it intentionally. From the testimonies we realized that most is learned to walk in Christ almost accidentally. We then had a demonstration of the small group with 4 of the leaders. Bro. Russell and Jefferson did this. When they finished we broke them up into small groups and the leaders then repeated the same exercise with their group. When they told them they were to lead the small group, we saw panic in some of their eyes … but they did great. It was amazing the confidence the exercise brought to them.
We determined that we would not share the Creation to Church story with them to keep down the confusion. We felt that here we had to go a bit slower than in Guinea Bissau.
We finished off the night with cooking our meal outside over an open fire. The temp was cooler than in the house. We talked about having to suffer …. The Brazilian Bar-b-que was great!
