April 21 Update #1

We are enjoying life in beautiful Canchungo. We enjoyed the first day of training and getting ready to start the second day. Yesterday Russell told the story of the possessed man. We had them practice it and sent them out. We got their report this moring. We understand there were five decisions with several others who promised to come to church tomorrow.

Russell has told the story of Creation to the Church. It has been effective for them to realize that the essence of the truth of the activity of God can be told in a summary form especially when witnessing. Inside the church much more can be told. But here in Africa, they need to know that God loves them, wants fellowship with them but will reject them because of their sin... but if they accept Christ and his gift of the forgiveness of sin, they can have eternal life. They understand sin, but they do not know grace.

It is exciting to see their excitement when they realize new truths and how easy it is to tell the stories ... it provides an non-threatening way of sharing truth.

We are combining the need to become intentional disciples who are capable of making other disciples. This is the foundation for the church and a church planting movement. We are learning more about the Manjak people. They are hard workers and have initative. They just need a little help with tools, confidence, and encouragement.

Had we listened to the news of the world, we would have missed this GREAT BLESSING!
