Cindy reported that the team had a wonderful time with their meeting with the group of 10 women. They shared hygiene and health issues, then moved to spiritual things that God led them to share. It was apparent that God was in their midst and in fact one woman wants the group to share the same things with her village, which the team plans to do.
The team then went to Antionees's village where he is the only believer. This was the first visit by the team to his village and the whole village came out to see and hear from the team. They taught the food pyramid, dental hygine, and then they shared the Creation Story and about God's love from the very beginning. The team got to see Antionee's house and had lunch at the village. There were several Manjacku there and one of the village elders indicated that he wants to receive the Lord into his life.
There was also an opportunity to share a gift that will keep on giving which came from Ronda's mother. The gift given was to the parents that had lost a child a couple of years ago when one of our teams was there. The gift will help in the effort to replace a banana plantation which had been blown down and destroyed.
The dressings are to come off of Fautou's hand today (the one who had surgery by our team). They found out the girl is from Bueno which is one of the villages where we want to advance God's work.
Tomorrow the team is to meet with the Prefect and the President of the Rural Community to finalize the land use that has been made available. Then in the afternoon the team will go to Bueno. On Saturday the team plans to go to Dialandighoto and to Bamacounda as well where they will have church services. Karen will use her felt board to share Bible stories.
Cindy asks that we pray for the health of the four remaining team members. She says that they are in good health now but some are getting tired and one has some feet swelling.
Cindy hopes to post on the blog and put up some pictures if the internet cooperates.
Praise God,
Rod Sallee
