We Arrived! Yay God!

Greetings from Sedhiou! We have arrived safely after many hours of travel. Praise the Lord! We had a great night’s rest and we are ready to serve!

We had the great privilege of seeing Dianke in Thies Wednesday morning. Dianke’s neck and underarm were showing some signs of infection, so Dr. Ted will possibly perform more skin grafts on Friday. Dianke was able to raise her arm shoulder height and close her mouth. She had a sweet, sweet smile and seemed to be in good spirits. Please pray complete healing of any infection she may have so the surgery will be possible on Friday. Also, pray for Dr. Ted for wisdom, discernment, and knowledge while he performs the surgery.

The ferry stop was quite interesting. There was an abundance of people waiting to get on the ferry to cross the river. We have never seen so many people waiting for the ferry. We received word that there was a 3 day festival in Zig, and some people had to spend the night the night before to get on the ferry. God showed us great favor because we only had to wait 45 minutes to get on the ferry. Yay God! While waiting, Cindy was able to show God’s love to some of the native women with a little conversation, singing, and bubble gum. One of the women told Cindy she was their friend and then mentioned no other woman has ever talked with them like Cindy had. Cindy told the women that she loved them, but most importantly Jesus loves them.

Whether at home in the states, or thousands of miles across the ocean, each one of us has been called to present the truth of Jesus Christ and show his love to the lost.

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” –Matthew 5:13-16
