Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:8-9
It was an amazing day today. We had the unique and wonderful opportunity to visit and serve the only Mandyak church in the region for our last medical clinic day. In the past, the road to Dialadinghoto (pronounced Daleen Di-koto, I think) has been impassible, and after the last rainy season, it took more than three hours to arrive. Thankfully, there has since been some work on the roads, and 3 hours was more like 30 minutes. The team did a great job of setting up efficiently, and the day was a smooth, effective day. The people are so friendly and welcoming. It is always an immediate comfort to be surrounded by our fellow Christians, and even when we have known them for only a short time, we feel the comfort of a family through Christ.
The facilities here are beautiful, and are surely a direct answer to prayer. Cindy recalls standing in the bush where the church property now lies, opening her Bible and praying that God may raise up a new facility for this Mandyak church, and now several years later, He allowed her the gift of seeing His work carried out in that new building through our team today.
The team had the privileged, yet undeserved honor of leading two Mandyak women to Christ today!!! Halleluiahs are going up all over Africa again tonight, and even louder around the throne of our Heavenly Father! We could sense that there was a “listening attitude” amongst the clinic patients today as Larry passionately presented the Gospel. We are rejoicing that even more seeds were planted today, and many, I would guess, on fertile soil! Please continue to pray for the hearts of those that heard today, but did not make a decision; also be in prayer for our new sisters in Christ, that they proclaim their faith boldly, standing firm in the love and armor of the Lord when the goin’ gets tough! Also, for those of you who know Rosa, her daddy walked out of the clinic today with a French Bible carefully tucked away in his pocket. Please pray that God will use those words to change not only his heart, but that of his family.
We rounded out the day in Dialadinghoto with a joyous celebration. We listened to some wonderful preaching, sang and danced. It certainly brings pure joy to see children filling a church, singing songs which reflect that no matter who we are or who we were, God loves us. Those children are the future of that church, and He will raise a Kingdom here through them! AMEN!
We also had to opportunity to fellowship with our African family tonight. Parting is so difficult. We are certainly family.
As you can probably tell by the short post, I am very tired and we have to load ‘em up (the vans) in about 4 hours- YIKES. I wanted to share the GOOD NEWS of the day, and the direct answer to our many prayers. Please pray for travelling mercies tomorrow, as we make the entire trip back to Dakar; pray for no sickness, no car difficulties, no accidents, safety, etc. We can definitely feel your prayers, and are appreciative. We love you!
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John 4
