From Cindy via Sam

This is from my conversation with Cindy.

We had a great day. Don Kim and I had our financial meeting with Bert at the business office to settle up the money matters.  He wanted to know when we were coming over to stay.  They met with Rama at the travel agency to talk about their flight situation with Air Senegal. Some had encouraged her to look at utilizing the ferry that travels between Dakar and Zigunchor.  This is a night ferry where the people sleep on the vessel. The ferry leaves in the evening (6 ish) and arrives at about 8 a.m.

The team visited IDRC where the children had made posters for the team. The Korean ladies really enjoyed this experience.  Later they visited the artisan's village to look at the crafts that are made in Senegal and are available for sale.  Cindy was laughing at Don their leader who at the start wanted the women to hurry up.  By the time they were ready to leave, they were waiting on Don.  It is generally a fun way to interact with the Senegalese  because you do learn culture, language and other things.  It generally costs you some money and you get some items that will represent your experience but you have an excellent opportunity to interact and share a witness.

Cindy broke off a tooth eating some popcorn that she had been wanting for days.  She has already informed her dentist that she is coming in Monday.

They are now getting ready for their trip home.  Enjoying a shower, packing their bags for the last time, getting ready to load them on the van, then they will go to the La Ricife Resturant which is located that the western most point of Africa and is near the airport. After their meal, they will go to the airport where they will: clear security, wait on Delta to open their counter (they open after midnight), get checked in, clear immigrations, customs and they will wait for their flight to be called.  This is an experience and fun to watch all of the travelers and events that occur.

Pray:

  • That the flight will go smoothly
  • That their transition through immigrations and customs in Atlanta will be with ease
  • That their connecting flights will be without problems.
