Wisdom through prayer

God has heard our cries and answered our prayers. He has heard YOUR cries and answered YOUR prayers! We had been fervently praying for His wisdom and discernment in dealing with some situations in Sansamba. Through much prayer, wise counsel from Pastor N’gor and Joseph, and the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon Sam lips, truth was spoken and the love for the village of Sansamba was demonstrated.
It was a good time of fellowship w/the chief and elders. Dr. Ray and Gary, I sent a special picture of the chief just for you!! Gwen and I had the privilege of praying for two elderly ladies with physical ailments. It is amazing what giving a few Advil in the name of Jesus can do!
After we left Sansamba, we had the opportunity to travel to the village where the medical team from Georgia was holding their “clinic”. It just reinforced that God has bestowed great blessings upon our medical team in supplying our every need. We still marvel at God’s divine plan to bring Billy here on a “vision” trip for the possibility of bringing a medical team down. But God, in His infinite wisdom had another plan. HE decided to plant Billy smack dab in the middle of one!!! Billy has worked so hard and has been HUGE blessing for the Georgia team! It was icing on the cake for Billy!
God was gracious to us yesterday afternoon by giving us a little “down” time for some much needed rest. We were also able to “scout out” a few things for the Jan trip. At the end of the afternoon Gwen and I had the privilege of returning to our friends and neighbor, Teda and Fautu. God granted much freedom to these women to ask us some very good questions. Did Jesus actually die and then raise from the dead? Do we fast? Does fasting bring the forgiveness of sin? What do you fast? Why do you fast? Do you have a designated month to fast? The Holy Spirit granted me much wisdom by the leading of our translator Pastor N’gor. Once again, HE opens the doors, HE provides wisdom and knowledge, HE is our provision! Praise Ye the Lord! What a sweet time of fellowship it was. Please pray that God will cont to draw them and that the Truth they received would take root.
We concluded the evening with a sweet time of fellowship and sharing the common bowl.
Today will go to the last time for Tom to visit a village that he has worked so diligently with. The reality that this is very surreal right now. It is a very bitter-sweet time because he longs to be with his own family yet has developed such a deep love for these people. Please bathe him in constant prayer. We are also planning a dinner celebration for his students on Saturday. There possibly could be 100 people. This will be a time to honor Tom and his sacrificial efforts. It also provides much encouragement and motivation for the students to continue their lessons w/Pastor N’gor. NeNe and her sister will be preparing the food for this group over a coal fire. Pray that the preparation will go smoothly, that Tom will be blessed, and that the work of His Kingdom will move forward.
We have two scripture passages God has laid on our hearts for today.
The first is for Tom.
“I tell you the truth,” Jesus said to them, “no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life.” Luke 18:29-30
The second is for Sansamba, Teda, and Fautu
“Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice? On the heights along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand; beside the gates leading into the city, at the entrances, she cries aloud…Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her. I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion. To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have understanding and power…I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.” Proverbs 8:1-3, 10-14, 17
