October 27th update from the team...

There are still problems with connecting to the internet.

As Cindy stated in the earlier post, they traveled to the village of Bruno where the infant had died during the medical mission earlier this year. The father of the child brought gifts for Cindy, and she is very well received in this village though they are more orthodox Islam. 140 people of this Mandinka village assembled to greet the team today.

Mr. Mendy, the school principal at Bamacounda, is till leading Bible classes and when asked about his relationship with Jesus, he said he knew that Jesus was the true one. He used to have bad dreams about the witch doctor (the one in the red costume), but has not had the dreams since he asked Jesus to give him life.

In the village of Kountobau, the met with the chief, who is Mandyak and made arrangements to return to meet with him on Thursday.

They have met with the couple who are with the SIL (Summer Institute of Linguistics) which are doing some translation work in Manjaku. They received some Manjaku literature from them and hope to meet with them again.

Prayer requests:
  • That Cindy and Pam will have direction and leading when they teach the women on Friday
  • For Sam and Roger's teaching of the leaders
