It is hard to believe that our time in Sedhiou has come to an end. It is with such mixed emotions that we have to say “good-bye”! I sing HIS praises for the marvelous deeds HE has done. At the same time I am so overwhelmed with the work that still needs to continue. The fields are white for harvest but the laborers are few…we MUST pray that the Lord of the harvest will send forth laborers!!
Yesterday was full of blessings. We first had planned to go to Jalingdekotto (sp?) but the roads were impassable. We then decided to go to a new Mandyak village by Kuanyan-Macagne but there was a funeral. School was in session so we decided to stop. The children there are such a delight and so gracious. They greeted us with a Christian song and then performed the various dance of 5 different people groups. It was a sweet time of fellowship for all of us.
While we were at Kuanyan-Macagne we also went to pay a short visit to Nema, one of Tommy’s students. Ronda, she was asking about you. I told her that you have been praying daily for her. Nema continues to be obedient in her faith walk and is attending church regularly at Pastor N’gor’s church. After visiting w/her, she explained that she had had some bad dreams the night before and had hoped that she could go and pray w/Pastor N’gor. God had a different plan, we all came to her!! How neat is that! We were able to pray for her and provide the encouragement that she was needing.
After we completed our visit w/Nema we then traveled to the village to see the mother who had lost her baby, Fautou, last week. The mother’s name is Tenea Sunding. I wasn’t sure what to expect but just sensed the need to go see her one last time. God truly blessed our visit. Her family welcomed the entire team, expressed their deep gratitude to the medical team, and expressed their desire for our relationship to “go forward” and stated that we were now family. God heard and answered our prayers…for them to see HIS love through us! As we were leaving Tenea presented me with another chicken!! As much as it stretches me to touch those feathers it humbles me even more to think that they would give me all that they had!! Needless to say, tears began to flow as we drove off. My prayer is that somehow, someway, she will come to know Christ as her personal Savior.
We then returned to the river house and a couple of the Korean team members, along w/Pastor N’gor and Joseph, went out by boat to the island of the Devil. They prayer walked the ground and claimed it for Christ. It was an exciting time for Joseph and Pastor N’gor.
God then blessed us with an uneventful day of travel back to Dakar. Thank-you Lord!
Please pray for us as we prepare for our journey home and begin to process all that we have experienced. Pray for wisdom and discernment as we begin to seek His direction for the next steps we are to take.
Again, I want to thank our faithful prayer warriors who have stood in the gap for us. Prayer is the key!!! We could not do this without you!
Love to our families…we can’t wait to see you.
For His Kingdom,
Cindy

"However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me-the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace" Acts 20:24

If Cindy continues to receive chickens we may have to build a coop at the river house. The eggs might come in handy. :) Thanks Cindy for your obedience in going where the Lord has commanded you to go. He is doing a mighty thing there in Sedhiou and it is humbling to be a part of it. I for one can hardly wait until He allows me to return.
