Everybody up early!!!! We had to be up, showered, breakfast eaten, and packed up and moved out of the rooms by 8:00 am. The rooms we are sleeping in are Sunday school rooms that would be used that day. It was done without a hitch. Amazingly the kids accomplished this without one complaint. Smiles on their faces and even helped get the church and fellowship hall ready for a big forth of July celebration. Being a big military town, this was one of the biggest celebrations for the church. We participated in Sunday school and a very patriotic church service. After service there was a large church wide cookout and lots of fellowship. We helped cook, setup, serve, and cleanup. Tanner Schaak said he loved getting the seniors their drinks because they gave him hugs back. Don't we have sweet kids? After this we all canvassed the area with Vacation Bible School flyers. This took several hour and many miles! Calvary, be proud of your youth, they met rejections at the doors of many homes, yet went on to the next one with a smile and never stopped until all the flyers were gone.
We decided to end that day after having dinner with a trip to the Garden of the gods. (Large rock formations) The kids had a great time and loved the experience!
We came back and had a devotional share time. The day ended on a high note and may I add we were exhausted and ready for bed.
