retrunign to Dakar

Good morning dear friends and family. I just don’t seem to have the words to express some of the things we have been privileged to this past week. Yesterday was a very sweet time at the river houses (aka “suite”).
We started out at the market. Trying to buy some things for our “send off” celebration. Lucinda and Tracy, I have such great admiration for you!!!! As much as I hate to go to Walmart it doesn’t compare to the market in Sedhiou! While shopping at market we received a call from Tom saying about 30 people had already shown up and this was about 10:00 am and we were expected them at 12:00. So we took most of the team back and Pastor N’gom and I returned to finish the needed shopping.
NeNe and her helpers did an AMAZING job in preparing the food!! I’ll try not to complain about cooking every again!…emphazing “try”.
We had approx. 50 adults and many children who came to celebrate the time that they have been able to spend with Tom. Words are so inadequate to describe the deep love that is rooted in our blessed Saviour between these gracious people and Tom. Tom and Pastor N’gom are truly our Moses and Aaron. There were tears of sorrow shed by all for loss that they feel with Tom leaving. There was also joyful fellowship. This was great encouragement and motivation for these students to continue HIS work. We now have the responsibility to daily lift up Pastor N’gom and his flock as they spread the Good News and disciple new believers.
Unfortunately there was a death in the village of Bamakunda so we were not able to show the Jesus film. We were very disappointed yet at the same time recognized that it was HIS plan and it allowed us to have a short time of rest and finalize some of the business matters that needed tending to.
The gentleman that had prayed to receive Christ the night before returned about 10:00 pm to talk some more w/Nathan. That was very encouraging. It is such a process here because of the many strongholds.

We will be leaving Sediou in just about 2 hours to travel by car to Ziguinchor. Please pray for safe travel and for Tom as he leaves his Senegalese home. Diane, I don’t know for sure how he is going to be able to stay in Dakar one more day. How he longs to be with you and your family. We are also praying for you, that God will bless you richly for your act of obedience to God’s call on Tom’s life. Please know that it is because of your efforts to carry the load stateside it has facilitated Tom to carry the load here in the Casamance. Because of your obedience many have come to hear the Good News!
We love you all and are anxiously awaiting our arrival home.
Cindy
