Update from Travis, January 9

Sent: Tuesday, January 09, 2007 10:09 AM

Yesterday we went to a village a little ways away from Sedhiou and met with a believer that lives there. While a couple of us played soccer and played around with the kids, another part of our team was encouraging her to keep her faith and not loose heart. As obviously, it is hard to be the only believer in a village. One thing that was encouraging though is that it did not seem like there was any barriers within the village in the term of tribes. That has been one of the biggest barriers in the way of leading others to Christ in that they will not associate with others outside of their tribe and or family. We could not notice any of these tendencies and that was very encouraging.

Our health as a team, at least here in the south, has been pretty good: except for last night. Ryan got sick and today has spent most of the day recuperating, but now feels much better. There are a few others that are not feeling so good, but we are doing well.

Today we went to another village and met with many different people to help us get together a world view of the Mandyak and to just help build relationships. There were also many occasions in which a couple of our team was able to share the story. It was pretty awesome just being able to listen to them and then the realization that we can do that everyday and yet don’t. We are so spoiled.

Just be in prayer for our house keeper, and all the others we have had the opportunity to tell the story to. Thanks again for the prayer and support, it is greatly appreciated and felt.
